About Us

On the border of Gowanus and Park Slope, Il Vino Torchio opened in the summer of 2011. The store is located on 4th Avenue between St. Mark’s Place and Bergen Street. Il Vino Torchio adds to the growing list of new and exciting businesses on the Avenue. Owner Marcelo Torchio, chose this location because he felt there was a wine store niche in the neighborhood that needed to be filled. Marcelo designed Il Vino Torchio to be a cozy and charming neighborhood wine shop with special attention paid to customers’ feedback and requests. Wines from around the world are all hand picked by Marcelo to suit the tastes and budget of the store’s clientele. Every Friday we offer a Wine Tasting which enables us to discover new wines together and to catch up with clients. Il Vino Torchio is open every day(google hours link) and carries wines for every occasion. Please visit our shop or contact us, we look forward to meeting you.

A boutique wine shop, with wine from around the world and local NY spirits,  carrying a lot of wine from small producers/wineries, with organic or natural practice.
Good value wines, for any budgets, friendly staff.
IL Torchio translates to “the wine press” in Italian, and ironically enough doubles as the namesake for this small but mighty wine nook on 4th Avenue. Argentinian-born owner Marcelo Torchio spent years strolling through grape vines back home before opening this spot in Park Slope in 2011. Hand-picked with his clientele in mind, Marcelo brings a mix of both old world and new world wines and offers tastings every Friday evening to showcase select vinos. He also curates a small but mighty selection of New York-made spirits.
